Teruel won the 2019/20 Copa de Su Majestad el Rey after beating trophy holders Almería in a breathtaking finale in Palma de Mallorca. In a duel of the 2 great dominators of the Spanish volleyball, Almería leveled the result in sets twice, forcing a tiebreaker in which nuances decided the winners: 3-2 (26-24, 20-25, 25-20, 20-25, 15-13).
Slovakian Filip Gavenda top-scored for Teruel in the final with 24 points, while Pablo Bugallo made 6 kill blocks. Argentinean Pablo Kukartsev put down 29 points for the losing side, Jorge Almansa served 5 aces. Teruel libero Aharón Gámiz was named MVP of the Final 4.
This was the 8th face-off between these 2 rivals for supremacy over the national Cup.
