The ECC members started out by analyzing the current season, taking pros and cons from the European Cups that are just about to enter their most exciting stage and defining some more criteria that will help evaluate the work of the Supervisors.

However, the ECC did not simply focus their attention on the current season but already started conceiving ideas and proposals to be submitted to the Board and that may eventually be turned into reality already for the 2013/2014 season. Much attention was deserved to the format of the annual European Volleyball Gala and Drawing of Lots for the CEV Volleyball Champions League especially in order to make sure this turns into a real Volleyball show that may attract the interest of fans, media, partners etc. The ECC did also work on the official regulations by amending or simply adjusting some provisions, with a more exhaustive proposal about the future of the European Cups to be discussed by the Board already next weekend in Prague.

“We had a very intensive but fruitful meeting” says Mrs. Ooms, “and all members of the ECC did actively join our discussions. I especially liked the pro-active attitude showed by my colleagues who were all ready to take up the challenges and tasks assigned to the Commission”.

The result of all this work and the discussions all ECC members have contributed to will be thoroughly evaluated by the Board of Administration as Europe’s Volleyball family is searching for measures likely to enhance the appeal of the European Cups and to make sure they remain one of the key products included in the CEV portfolio.
