In preparations for the Qualifications (Nicosia, Cyprus, August 30 – September 6) for the next EuroVolley, the Latvia National Team had planned to play two test matches at home with the seventh strongest club in the Polish league, Czarni, but due to Covid-19 restrictions, they have been canceled.
These two games with the PlusLiga side were planned for August 22 and 23 in Riga. Due to the increase in the number of people infected with the coronavirus in Poland and the fact that this country has been listed by the Latvian authorities to have high morbidity, the members of the Czarni would have to arrive in Latvia two weeks before the games and be in self-isolation.
At the beginning of August, Latvia played three times against Estonia, while in the qualification tournament, they will play in Pool D against the hosts Cyprus, Spain, and Moldova. The EuroVolley is scheduled for August and September 2021 in Poland, the Czech Republic, Finland, and Estonia.
