LP Viesti are the Finnish women’s volleyball club champions for the ongoing season.
The Salo team, the regular-season vice-champion, took its 10th national title in history by defeating 4th-seed Pölkky Kuusamo in the final series of the 2020/21 Mestaruusliiga. Viesti swept rivals in Game 2 by a 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-23) and won the playoff series by 2-0. Anna Czakan top-scored the titleholders with 13 points (including 4 blocks). Iina Andrikopoulou served 4 aces. Jessica Kosonen tallied 16 points on the losing side.
Viesti rose to the top of the all-time championship medal table with 10 gold medals, 6 silver, and 1 bronze. This title was the 2nd in a row for the Salo team, the 10th in the last 12 seasons. For Pölkky, silver was the best achievement in club history and the second-ever Finnish Championship medal. In 2019, the club won the Finnish Championship bronze.
