– On Thursday you lost to Greece 1:3. Fortunately, thanks to Italy’s victory against the Czech Republic you went to the semis.
– Yes, despite the very poor match with Greece we managed to advance to the semifinals. After the defeat we knew that everything was in the hands of the Italians. Fortunately, they behaved like true athletes, and crushed the Czechs, which gave us a promotion to the semis.
– In the match against Greece, the first two sets were resolved on the edge. Why do you think they won?
– It’s hard to say. Certainly we ran out of a bit of luck. The first set we shouldn’t have lost, because we were up 21:14.
– In the third set the opponent was better in each element. Why was that?
– It’s hard to say. I think we stopped serving well, which meant that Greece could attack us.
– In the semi-final you will meet Turkey, which won Group B. It will be a very difficult opponent.
– It will definitely be a very difficult game because the opponent is strong. But we can win against anyone. For sure we will give more than hundred percent and will fight for every ball.
– What are the weaknesses of the Turkish women? How do you have to play to get to the final?
– I haven’t seend the Turkish women in action yet, so it’s hard for me to say something more about them. Our coaching staff will prepare a technical briefing where we will receive more information about the opponents. But we know that this is a very good and balanced team.
