With a joint meeting of CEV officials and representatives of the Organizing Committee held at Belgrade’s Hotel M on Tuesday evening the official part of the competition has commenced. Jury President and CEV Vice President and Treasurer Philip Berben, CEV Senior Vice President and President of the Serbian Volleyball Federation Aleksandar Boričić and President of the Volleyball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Luka Jurić welcomed the CEV officials and the details around the management of the Final Round of the Youth European Championship were finalized.
”We already have experience in holding a joint event like this as over the past days we organized the youth championship for girls with our friends from Montenegro,” Aleksandar Boričić said. ”By entrusting the volleyball federations of Bosnia and Herzegovina and of Serbia with the organization of the CEV Youth Volleyball European Championship – Boys, the European confederation gave us a great opportunity to promote our sport among the young generations. Knowing that it is extremely important to invest into the future of volleyball, I hope that these co-hosted Youth European Championships will serve as a model for more and more volleyball federations to join together in organizing competitions for the young generations.”
”The fact that Serbia is organizing these European Championships together with Montenegro two weeks ago and with Bosnia and Herzegovina now deserves all our respect,” Philip Berben added. ”The way the Serbian federation is supporting its colleagues from neighboring countries is very well regarded in Europe as this gives them the opportunity to learn how to organize such a championship for the benefit of Volleyball.”
”We have invested a lot of efforts so that this championship is organized in the best possible way. I would also like to thank the Volleyball Federation of Serbia that has helped us a great deal in these efforts. It would not be the same without their support,” Luka Jurić concluded.
The battles of the Final Round of the 2013 CEV Youth Volleyball European Championship – Boys on the court will start off with the first competition day of Pool II in Belgrade (SRB) on Friday, April 12th. The following day will mark the beginning of the Pool I games in Laktaši (BIH).
