NED M: Abdel Aziz looks forward to World League

Since Edwin Benne is appointed as head coach, Nimir Abdel Aziz become first setter of Netherlands national team. A great honor for the 21-year-old player who played last two years in Italy. Anyone who saw Abdel Aziz plays know how spectacular this athlete can play volleyball. Despite the fact he plays as a setter, he is known for his hard jump service, mighty block and his explosive stroke. There are some games he could compete with some attackers.

Abdel Aziz will debut this summer in the World League. “I understand that playing the World League is a whole new experience,” says Abdel Aziz just before the start of the tournament. “Travelling around the world is tiring and you have to handle it well. I will play against countries such as Japan, South Korea and Canada. Some of these countries, especially the Asian, play a different system.”

The setter is confident that Orange can continue the same way as they finished 2012. “When we first got back together after the end of the club competitions I noticed that we play better in the baseline than last year at this time,” notes Abdel Aziz. “You can see that everyone gained a year of experience at his club.” Abdel Aziz at his Italian club CUNEO not get to play. “That’s why I recently signed with the Turkish Ziraat Bankasi ANKARA. Here I am basically first setter” says Abdel Aziz.
