China, led by its legendary coach Lang Ping, were the first team to arrive at the airport. The president of the local organising committee José Tavares welcomed the team.
In the afternoon, the team held its first training session and took part in a promotional event at the famous “Leal Senado Square” where they received a warm welcome from the citizens and volleyball fans.
Cuba, the Netherlands and Bulgaria also arrived in the city during the course of the day to undergo final preparations for the highly anticipated event.
Macau fans will be treated to an entertainment-packed weekend as China showcase their new line-up under coach Lang Ping while former World Grand Prix champions Cuba and Netherlands will try to revive its glorious history.
Bulgaria will also rise up to the challenge as they mark their debut in the premier annual women’s event.
