National team of Finland
After two triumphs of Slovakia, on Saturday, in third encounter after the fight in five sets Slovaks had to acknowledge the superiority of players from Finland, 17:25, 18:25, 25:17, 25:20, 13:25.
After victories over Finland 5-0 both (coaches of both teams had agreed to play the two additional sets in first two matches), this time players from Slovakia came upon the greater resistance from the opponents.
The last of the planned three encounters ended after the tie-break.
At first, everything pointed away win it will be over in three sets after Finland led 2-0, but players led by coach Štefan Chrtiansky managed to get back into the game, extending their fate.
The decisive set started after the Slovaks did a great job in blocking the Finns. It announced the beginning of another triumph by hosts after they led 8-4 at technical break.
However, Finland was able to overcome the tie (10-9, 12-12) and finally win 15-13.
On September 7-8 Slovaks will play with the national team of Italy, than they will return to their country, in Bratislava where they will play with the Russians on September 16 and 17.
