National team of Serbia, the current European champion, and Poland one of the hosts of the European championship, on Saturday evening played the second of the three friendlies.

Serbia has defeated the Poles 3-2, by sets 19:25, 28:30, 25:18, 25:23 and 15:13, after 118 minutes and noted the second win against the same rival.

The match was played in Belgrade in front of 500 spectators in the gymnasium “Šumice”.

Best scorers in domestic team were Aleksandar Atanasijević with 21 and Nikola Kovačević with 16 points. Better than the others in Polish team were Krzystof Wierzbowski with 30 and Bartosz Kurek who scored 20 points.

Serbia and Poland will play their third friendly match on Sunday, September 01 from 6:30 PM. Entrance in the gymnasium “Šumice” is free.

Poland and Serbia are preparing for the 28th European Championship, which will take place in Denmark and Poland on September 20-29.

National team of Serbia will play first match in their pool in Herning, Denmark against Slovenia on September 20. After that, Serbia will play on September 21 vs. the Netherlands and the last, 3rd round on September 22 against Finland.

Poland will play in Pool B in Gdansk, with France, Slovakia and Turkey.
