Zaytsev in attack
Young Italian team hit a roadblock at start of the match and trailed with 0-1 against Netherlands. But superior defence brought them back into driving seat. After a convicing second set which they won by 25-18 Italy never slowed down, claiming place in the quarter finals.
Lucca Vettori was amazing with 20 points, followed up by Thomas Beretta who had 12. In losing side, Jelte Maan had 13.
Italy’s defence held Netherlands to a very poor 33% of attack success whilst block an amazing 18 spikes of Netherlands.
