Aleksandar Atanasijević was one of not so many lights inside the dark tunnel of Serbia’s participation at the 2021 CEV Men’s Volleyball European Championship.
Even though his play for the Serbia National Team was very often disputed by the media and fans in the country, Atanasijević was one of not so many players on which the head coach Slobodan Kovač could rely during the Men’s EuroVolley 2021. ‘Bata’ looked back to the appearance of Serbia in the tournament that has just been ended and in which his team lost the throne, finishing fourth.
“Returning home without a medal hurts a lot, we wanted more but we have to look each other in the eyes and realize that, at this moment, the fourth place is our best… we have to work and get out of everything stronger, and I’m sure we will…” Atanasijević posted on social media.
