The Japanese Volleyball Association (JVA) has announced that men’s national team head coach Yuichi Nakagaichi will resign at the end of this month.
The JVA will have to seek the new head coach of its men’s national team.
During the recent press conference, now the former head coach Nakagaichi summarized the last five years on the bench and announced stepping down from the post. He commanded Japan to win four medals, one of which was gold – in the 2017 Asian Championship. His team finished seventh at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which did not satisfy the JVA.
Given that Kumi Nakada is no longer the head coach of Japan Women, the country’s national federation will have to appoint the two new head coaches for the next Olympic cycle, i.e. until the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
