Saeid Marouf’s future in the Iranian Men’s Volleyball National Team is still up in the air, according to the federation’s (IRIVF) officials.
The president of the IRIVF, Mohammadreza Davarzani, said the decision whether or not to invite the biggest star of the country’s volleyball Marouf to the national team hasn’t been made yet.
After failing to qualify for the knockout stage of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, the veteran setter announced his retirement from the national squad. The captain didn’t compete for Iran at the 2021 Asian Championship, which Iran won.
In late January, the 36-year-old player joined Fenerbahçe HDI Sigorta, the Turkish club vice-champions.
