Serbian Cup ends up in showcases of Partizan and Crvena zvezda

Both teams that won the 2021/22 Serbian Volleyball Cup did so many years after their last successes in the competition.

Partizan-Soccerbet took the 2022 edition of the Men’s Kup Srbije. The club from Belgrade defeated Mladi Radnik in front of nearly 3,000 spectators in Lajkovac, with a score of 3-1, absolutely dominating in the block (20). Thus, Partizan won the 8th title in the competition, the first after 32 years. Canadian Nathan Delguidice top-scored the winning side with 19 points. Lazar Marinović set up 5 blocks. Novica Bjelica, the Partizan middle blocker, was named MVP.

In the women’s finals, also played today in Lajkovac, Crvena zvezda prevailed over the hosts Železničar in 4 sets and won their trophy no.18 in the competition but the first after 8 years. Jelena Lazić was the most productive player in Crvena zvezda with 15 points. Bosnian Dajana Bošković served 4 aces. The Crvena zvezda setter Bojana Drča was awarded MVP.
