The US Men’s Volleyball National Team member Aaron Russell will be playing in Asia on a club level for the first time in his career.
The Best Outside Spiker of the 2016 Rio Olympics, Russell, will play in Japan next season. Since there was no room for him in the new, mighty project of Italy’s Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza, the 29-year-old American player decided to leave the SuperLega side after two years and join JT Thunders.
At the same time, the one-time V.League champions hired one more foreign player for 2022-23. It’s the China National Team opposite hitter Jiang Chuan. For the first time in his career, the 27-year-old player and top scorer of the maiden edition of the FIVB Volleyball Nations League (2018) will play outside of his native country, coming to the Thunders from Beijing.

smart move for Russell, playing in the Japanese League, this will improve his passing and skills, which will make him an even better player. He’s already playing the best I’ve ever seen, wait till the Olympics, he’ll dominate.
