Petro Gazz extended its winning streak to six after a hard-fought 25-20, 24-26, 28-26, 25-20 victory over ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles, reclaiming the top spot in the PVL All-Filipino Conference at Philsports Arena.
The Angels faced relentless resistance, battling through long rallies and intense moments before clinching the match. Brooke Van Sickle powered Petro Gazz with 27 points, calling ZUS Coffee’s defense “insane” as they pushed the game to the limit. Outside hitter Myla Pablo added 22 points, including clutch hits that sealed the pivotal third set.
With a 7-1 record, Petro Gazz now leads the 12-team race, inching closer to a top playoff seed.
In another match, PLDT dominated Farm Fresh, 25-20, 25-17, 25-19, to secure third place in the standings. Savannah Dawn Davison led the charge with 26 points, while setter Angelica Alcantara orchestrated the attack with 12 excellent sets.
