Just a day after Halkbank confirmed the departure of coach Igor Kolaković, fresh rumors suggest the Montenegrin volleyball expert is on his way back to Slovenia, potentially taking the helm at ACH Volley Ljubljana.
Kolaković parted ways with the Turkish powerhouse before the season’s end, following disappointing domestic results. Despite leading Halkbank to the Champions League Final Four, the club failed to reach the Turkish league semifinals and lost the cup final to Fenerbahçe—prompting a swift coaching change.
According to insider sources, Kolaković may soon replace Matjaž Hafner as head coach of ACH Volley. The Slovenian champions have already secured several big-name signings, including national team stars Tonček Štern, Tine Urnaut, Gregor Ropret, and Alen Pajenk, signaling ambitious plans for the upcoming season.
Kolaković previously led ACH Volley during the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons, securing domestic doubles and making deep runs in European competition. If confirmed, his return could mark a new era for the Ljubljana-based club.
