Danish volleyball made history this weekend with the very first Men’s Super Cup, a brand-new tournament featuring every team from the national league. The competition brought surprises, standout performances, and ultimately a familiar winner: Odense Volley lifted the trophy once again.
From the start, the matches delivered excitement. Hvidovre shocked Gentofte with a clean 3–0 win, while Middelfart edged ASV to secure a semifinal spot. Nordenskov also impressed, beating Vestsjælland 3–1 to set up a showdown with Hvidovre.
In the semifinals, the favorites showed their strength. Odense swept Middelfart 3–0, with outside hitter Sigurd Varming unstoppable in attack. On the other side, Nordenskov stunned Hvidovre 3–0, signaling they were ready to challenge for the crown.
The final lived up to expectations. Nordenskov pushed hard and even stole a set, but Odense’s experience—and Varming’s scoring power—made the difference. With a 3–1 victory, Odense confirmed their status as the dominant force in Danish men’s volleyball.
The first Super Cup ended with a familiar champion, but the competition itself opened a fresh chapter for the sport in Denmark. Surprises, new rivalries, and breakout performances showed that this tournament has already earned its place on the national calendar.
