Bayi won the first two matches in the finals, both by 3-1 in sets and each away, but than allowed the opponent to return in the race for the trophy in the third game (0-3).

Nevertheless, the fourth match in the finals (the second at home court) was the opportunity that Bayi didn’t want to miss. It was a straight-set win, with partial 25-10, 25-20, 25-17.

Thus, Bayi won its second championship title in the club’s history. The first was in 2000/2001 season. Thus, it made two steps forward comparing to the last season’s third place.

Bayi was among rare teams in the league which didn’t hire foreigners.

The most efficient players in the winning team in the last game of the season were Yuan Xinyue with 21 and Wang Yunlu with 14 points.

In Shanghai, the Croatian Senna Ušić-Jogunica and Zhang Lei collected 10 points each.
