ACH U21 M: Egypt won fourth African Championship title

Egypt added a title to their collection as they beat Algeria 3-1 (25-23, 20-25, 25-22, 25-21) in the final of the Men's U21 African Nations Championship held at the Eastern Company Hall in Cairo, Egypt.

Egypt topped the three-nation tournament with a win-loss ratio of 2-0 (6 points), ahead of Algeria , who dropped to 1-1 (3 points) after losing toEgypt . Both teams confirmed tickets to the FIVB Volleyball Men’s U21 World Championship in Tijuana and Mexicali, Mexico from September 11-20. Morocco ended the African tournament in third place with a 0-2 record.

Egypt have won the title four times in this age category, while Algeria have won it twice. Tunisia are the record-holders with nine championship victories to their name.

• Best Server: Mohamed Ali Elsheikh (EGY)

• Best Receiver: Larbi Hedroug (ALG)

• Best setter: Ahmed El Ashry (EGY)

• MVP: Ahmed Diaa (EGY)
