The match had no importance since the Netherlands already qualified for the semi-final (vs. Turkey) while the Dominicans lost their chances to advance into the next stage.

Nevertheless, the Dutch team kept its invincible winning streak to 3 matches. Their opponent didn’t note a single triumph after 3 games and will battle for the 5th place at the tournament.

The Dominicans had the chance in the 3rd set after annulling three set points from the Netherlands and equalized at 24-24, but failed to make a full turnaround.

Celeste Plak scored 13 for the Dutch team while Erasma Martínez had 9 points in the Dominican Republic.
