Thailand defended its title at the 28th Southeast Asian Games with a clean victory over Vietnam, partially 25-20, 25-19, 25-23.

Thai national team was superior during the entire competition and won its sixth gold medal without losing a single set in five matches.

It was a third straigth gold medal for Thailand in tournament history, sixth overall.

Jirayu Raksakaew was the most efficient player in the winning team with 19 points. Từ Thanh Thuận scored 14 for Vietnam.
