Chinese team demolished the hosts in Saitama in the first set leading 16-6 at one moment and showing an incredible offensive power.
In the second set Japan pulled away into 23-20 and stayed calm until the end.
Sets three and four saw China quickly found itself leading with high advantage and never allowed Japan to get close.
Yuan Xinyue scored 19 for the winning team while Sarina Koga collected 13 in Japan.
Previously, Italy easily cruised past Dominican Republic in the same pool, beating them in straight sets and reaching the fifth win out of six matches.
Cristina Chirichella collected 12 points for Italy. Cindy Rondón had six for the Dominicans who remained winless in the competition.
