It seems that Russia started to show the best play from the moment it lost all chances to qualify for the Rio Olympics, next year. It doesn’t refer to team play only, but on individual as well.

For example, we haven’t seen too many attempts of outsmarting opponent, but mostly powerful spikes. Against Japan in the last round, Sergey Grankin showed that Russians can use more weapons than just a strength.

The setter of „Zbornaya“ performed brilliant feint on the net, similar to those that Marouf or De Cecco often do. He made a hand hitch like he’s going to set, but he simply left the ball to fall into Japan’s field.
