Bulgaria was supersonic in Set 1 and Set 2. The home team gained an early 8-2 in first set and extended it to 12-5. It was a crazy house on the stands in those moments as Nikolov, Aleksiev and Penchev played perfect volleyball. Bulgarians could already prepare for the next set after getting 21-15. Finally, it was 25-20.
Bulgarian team showed even greater dominance in second set. They got 10-2! German players looked so depressed on the court as they simply couldn’t score. They were either blocked or sent spikes outside. Vital Heynen, the head coach of Germany was pissed off, yelling on time-outs, trying to shake up his proteges. But, Bulgaria were unstoppable 14-6, 21-13 and finally 25-17.
The only set where Germany had some chance was Set 3, but at 10-8, Bulgaria had 4-0 run (14-8) and eliminated all dilemmas. Third set finished with 25-20.

It seams that Heynen gave them too heavy books to read.
They probably started to think about purpose of life in 2nd set
While Heynen make photos with French agents, Shipulin planted War and Peace for Grozer to read.
That was huge step from Spidetman to the Russian classic 🙂
