Composition of 2016 World League – Group 3 determined

The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) announced the composition of the 2016 World League – Group 3. For the first time in the history of the competition, the World League will consist of a record 36 teams.

The FIVB decided that 12 national teams will compete in the 2016 World League – Group 3: Greece, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Montenegro, Puerto Rico, Spain, Tunisia and Venezuela from previous edition of the tournament will be accompanied by Chinese Taipei, Germany, Slovenia and Qatar. These twelve teams are divided into pools of four.

The pool round matches og Group 3 will be played in two weekends: on June 17-19 and June 24-26.

As for Group 1, it will include 8 teams from the 2015 World League – Group 1: Australia, Brazil, Iran, Italy, Poland, Russia, Serbia and USA with addition of four teams that received wild card: Argentina, Belgium, Bulgaria and France (winners).

Group 2 is composed of the 12 teams ranked 13th to 24th in the 2015 World League: Japan, The Netherlands, Canada, Finland, the Czech Republic, Cuba, Korea, Portugal, Egypt, Turkey, Slovakia and China (China, Turkey, Slovakia and Egypt joined by wild card).

The Group 1 and 2 preliminary rounds will take place from June 17 through to July 3, while Group 3 will be played from June 17 to June 26. The Group 3 Finals will follow from July 1-3. The competition will end with the Group 2 Finals from July 9-10 and Group 1 Finals from July 13-17.

Muhahahahahaha, Thanks FIVB for putting Germany in Group 3 . when they were in Second group Heynen was nagging that we are better that many of the teams in Group 1 now they will be playing with Qatar , Chinese Taipei . hahahaha cant stop laughing .
