ROAD TO RIO W: Japan close Day 1 with ruthless win over Peru

In the last game of Day 1 at the World Olympic Qualification Tournament in Tokyo, Japan, we saw the only straight-set win so far.

The hosts showed superiority over weak Peruvian National Team 3-0 (25-23, 25-10, 25-14) to finish opening day as leaders in the standings.

The Japanese ladies were especially ruthless in the second set, leaving opponents at only 10 points.

Miyu Nagaoka led Japan whose players thrilled packed stands of „Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium“. She highlighted with 20 points. Ángela Leyva had 12 in Peru.
