Takashi Dekita remained the team’s major force as he scored a match-high 17 points for Japan. Nguyen Huu Ha topscored 11 points for the host side.

With the victory, Japan remain at the top of the pool by not dropping a set to their rivals. On Saturday, Japan came out in full force to beat South Korea in hard-fought three sets. The Japanese next take on Myanmar in their last pool round-robin preliminaries on Monday.
