David Konecny top scored for the Czechs with 18 points well supported by Jiri Kral and Jan Stokr with 15 and 14 respectively.
“We are happy with the result especially since the opening of the match was not easy for us. We were nervous and could not finalize most of our attacks. However, we gradually got confidence and things got less complicated” says Czech Ondrej Hudecek.
“The Czech team played with more consistency and they deserved to win” stresses Croatian leader Boris Osmokrovic. Croatia was paced by their star Igor Omrcen who scored 26 points in spite of a back injury that was immediately treated by the medical doctor.
