The 1st round of voting for the 2016/17 Wov Dream Team is underway. HERE you can find everything you need to know about the Poll, while do not forget that you can vote at our WorldofVolley Home Page and at our WorldofVolley Poll Page.

Before giving your vote so some player, here are some things you might want to know about them…

Today, we are presenting you the SETTERS.

Luciano De Cecco (Sir Safety Perugia): It is enough just to write that he is officially the best setter of the 2016/17 CEV Champions League Final Four. De Cecco was outstanding in the previous season, both in the Italian Championship and in the CEV Champions League. Unfortunately for him, he stayed without a single trophy as his Sir Safety Perugia got defeated in the 2016/17 CEV Champions League Finals, while they got eliminated in the Semi-Finals of the Serie A1 Playoffs.

Nevertheless, De Cecco definitely deserves to be on this list.

Benjamin Toniutti (Zaksa Kędzierzyn-Koźle): The champion of Poland! Benjamin Toniutti has once again showed his class by leading Zaksa Kędzierzyn-Koźle toward the second consecutive national title in PlusLiga. On top of that, his team also won the Polish Cup in the previous season.

Toniutti and his teammates did not qualify for the 2016/17 CEV Champions League Final Four, but that is the only failure they faced in the 2016/17 campaign.

Micah Christenson (Lube Civitanova): Another player who won both the national title and the national cup in the 2016/17 campaign. Micah Christenson really had a great season with Lube. Apart from winning the Italian Championship and the Italian Cup, he also helped his team reach the 2016/17 CEV Champions League Final Four. And, Christenson returned from Rome with the bronze medal around his neck.

William Arjona (Sada Cruzeiro): This guy is just used to winning trophies. His season started with winning the 2016 FIVB Club World Championship, then Arjona and his friends from Sada Cruzeiro claimed the Brazilian Supercup, after that they won the 2017 South American Club Championship, while finally they clinched another national title in Brazil.

The only trophy Arjona failed to win in the 2016/17 season was the Brazilian Cup.

Simone Giannelli (Diatec Trentino): Unlike William Arjona, this player suffered some pretty painful defeats in the 2016/17 season. Simone Giannelli and his Trentino lost the finals of 3 major competitions – Italian Championship, Italian Cup and CEV Cup. But despite all those defeats Giannelli was really impressive in every competition he participated.

Do not forget that Giannelli is just 21 years old, but he is already one of the best setters in the entire volleyball world.
