The Azerbaijani powerhouse was stopped just one step away from the final four last year and this time will be trying to make it to the last stage of the competition.

Although Azerrail lost to Igtisadchi in the first round of the national league last week, head coach Alessandro Chiappini remains quite confident for this home debut. “I believe in my team. We have analyzed our last match against Igtisadchi. We made some mistakes but it is just the beginning of the season.”

We have a great roster and all players are very motivated to achieve high goals but we also have to respect our opponents. If you underestimate the strength of your opponent, you always make a big mistake. We are sure that we can’t expect an easy match against the Germans as they have good players as well” he continues. Azerrail BAKU has undergone some major changes this past summer but Chiappini feels like the right team work will come soon.
