The 12 teams are divided into four pools will compete to vie not only the top honor in Asian but also the four tickets to 2013 Youth World Championship to be held in Mexico.
Pool A consists of Iran, Sri Lanka, and Mongolia, Pool B is made up of China, Thailand and Kazakhstan. Korea, Chinese Taipei and Australia are in pool C while India, Japan and Turkmenistan are in Pool D. Preliminary round will be held in the first three days, then classification round will take place in 2 days and after one day of rest the quarter final and semifinal will be held.
Mongolia and Sri Lanka play the starting match on Wednesday at 10:00 local time. On the same day Kazakhstan will face Thailand, Korea vs. Australia and India will play with Turkmenistan.
Since 1997, Iran is hosting the Asian Youth Boys’ volleyball Championship for the fourth time. On the previous 8 editions of the Asian youth boys’ volleyball championships, Iranian team has got five gold medal, and once silver medal. So this team is the most prestigious team of all youth events of AVC.
