“The previous edition has been successful for the polish clubs. PGE Skra Bełchatów has been ranked second at the Men’s Champions’ League tournament. Asseco Resovia Rzeszów lost in a decisive fight for the CEV Cup with Dinamo Moscow, and the final of the Challenge Cup was an internal matter of the Plus League teams. After a dramatic and emotional game AZS Częstochowa defeated AZS Politechnika Warszawska says President of the Professional Volleyball League S.A. (pol. Profesjonalna Liga Piłki Siatkowej), Artur Popko.

Interesting confrontations will take place already in the group phase of the ChampionsLeague (Men and Women). Among the rivals of the polish teams there is a Dynamo Moscow team. The club representatives will play against Bank BPS Fakro Muszyna. What makes the second match even more interesting, is the presence of Bartosz Kurek in the Russian club. So far the polish national team player has not been playing. At one of the Super League matches he got injured. This season, Bełchatów team won the Super Cup of Poland and the bronze medal of the Club World Championships.

“Furthermore, among the rivals of the polish teams we will see the Russian, Italian and Turkish teams – the representatives of the strongest European leagues. We will definitely not miss the interesting matches. Except great clubs like both Dynamos, Trentino Diatec, Rabita Baku or Eczacibasi Istanbul the fans will have possibility to observe great volleyball personalities” said chief of the training department of the Polish Volleyball Federation, Włodzimierz Sadalski.
