The hosts of Arago could not cause a sensation on Thursday night but nevertheless were able to put RZESZOW under real pressure.
In the first set Baptiste Geiler and Jochen Schöps stood out in offense for SETE and Resovia respectively with the score remaining close before the guests could claim a break of three points going up 19:22 via the contribution of Aleh Akhrem and Paul Lotman. After that, Asseco Resovia remained focused and could claim the set with the score of 23-25.
Arago de SETE stepped up the quality of their play in set 2 anchored by Geiler and Jean-Philippe Sol (17:12) but it was Grzegorz Kosok who – with his blocks – powered the comeback of Resovia that flipped the score around at 20:21 going for the final 22-25.
In the third set Arago de SETE was not caught by surprise as Junot Mistoco – who had joined the match – was very efficient while Resovia committed many errors paving the way for a speedy 25-13.
However, SETE could not stretch momentum in the fourth set where Resovia cruised to the 19-25 that sealed their first win in this European campaign.
