Jastrzębski Węgiel returned to the game for the title defense in the 2021/22 PlusLiga as they swept Trefl in Game 2 of the quarter-finals, tied the series at 1-1, and scheduled the 3rd and decisive match for the promotion to the semis in front of their own crowd. It was clear that the players of the defending champs had a strong motivation to take revenge for losing 2-3 (after having a 2-0 lead) in Game 1. For now, it seems that a shock therapy after sacking the head coach Andrea Gardini bore fruits.

Rafał Szymura top-scored Jastrzębski with 13 points.

2021/22 PlusLiga – playoff quarter-finals, Game 2 (today’s matches):

Trefl Gdańsk – Jastrzębski Węgiel 0-3 (23-25, 23-25, 14-25)
