The former big hope of the Italy Women’s Volleyball National Team, Valentina Diouf, will stay in the ranks of ŁKS Commercecon Łódź for one more year.
Diouf, who truly excelled in the jersey of Poland’s Łódź upon her arrival in January, made the fans of the Łódź club wonder what would’ve happened if she played for them from the beginning of the season. Now, they’ll have the chance to find out as an Italian player extended the contract with the TAURON Liga bronze medalists. In 13 matches played in the last Polish Championship, a former Italy National Team member scored 255 points, including 13 from the service and 33 from the block, sharing first place in the ranking of players awarded with the highest number of MVP statuettes (7 in total) with two more players.
Next season, the Best Opposite Spiker of the 2015 CEV Champions League will collaborate with her compatriot Alessandro Chiappini. He’ll be working in Poland for the fifth season in a row, seventh in total, coming to ŁKS from IŁ Capital Legionovia Legionowo. On the bench of ŁKS, Chiappini replaced late coach Michał Cichy.
