It was a night of mixed emotions in PlusLiga as Barkom Każany Lwów secured their spot in the league with a crucial 3-1 win over PSG Stal Nysa (25-22, 24-26, 25-21, 25-14). While the Lviv team celebrated survival, Stal Nysa saw their fate sealed, becoming the third team to be relegated this season.
Barkom dominated key areas, with Mart Tammearu leading the charge, scoring 22 points and earning the MVP award with a 56% attack efficiency, three aces, and three blocks. Ilia Kowalow (19 points) and Vasyl Tupchiy (15 points) also played crucial roles. The team’s strong blocking game (14-10) and fewer errors helped them control the match.
For PSG Stal Nysa, it’s the end of a tough season. Despite solid efforts from Michał Gierżot (20 points) and Remigiusz Kapica (15 points), they couldn’t turn the tide. They now join Nowak-Mosty MKS Będzin and GKS Katowice in leaving PlusLiga.
Meanwhile, Barkom breathes a sigh of relief—staying in Poland’s top volleyball league for another year.
