Head coach Andrzej Kowal, team captain Aleh Akhrem and wing-spiker Marko Ivović, one of the last additions to the roster, were also all in attendance.
“Our expectations for this season and campaign are very high,” said head coach Andrzej Kowal. “We definitely want to achieve more than we have in the past. We want to make a step forward. It’s still hard to say if this is enough to make the Final Four. Pool C seems to be an easy one but it’s not going to be a walk-over. We can’t underestimate anyone. We will be taking every game fully motivated and strongly believe in our strength.”
Asseco Resovia RZESZOW was drawn in Pool C together with Germany’s champions BERLIN Recycling Volleys, Budvanska Rivijera BUDVA of Montenegro and ACH Volley LJUBLJANA of Slovenia. Resovia will start their campaign on November 4 with a home match against Budvanska Rivijera.
“Every Volleyball player wants to have the chance to play in the Champions League and this is extremely important also for the club, the city, and the sponsors,” stressed team captain Aleh Akhrem who is returning back from injury. “We have set high goals for this season and want to win everything we can. Our dream is to make the Final Four.”
Marko Ivović, who last year played in France for PARIS Volley and won the CEV Volleyball Cup, added:
“This is my second season in this elite competition. Last year we came here with PARIS and played Resovia in the prelims. I am very happy to be here and will help my team as they try to achieve the goal of making the Final Four. This year we have excellent players on our roster and many options in every single position. I hope we can start by finishing first in our Pool.”
