A 52-year-old Mirosław Zawieracz took over OrlenLiga members Budowlani Toruń instead of an Italian coach Nicola Vettori.

Zawieracz is a well-known expert in Poland by achieving promotions to the top division on several occasions so far. For instance, he led Płomień Sosnowiec to OrlenLiga in 2006/07 and did the same with Enea PTPS Piła in 2010/11.

Zawieracz was at the helm of Wisła Warszawa from 2014 to 2017 with whom he became the winner of Division 2 (I Liga) but failed to achieve a promotion to OrlenLiga with the club as they lost the playoff finals for promotion to Trefl Proxima Kraków.
