In an interview for Przegląd Sportowy, Drzyzga stated that he parted ways with Lokomkotiv only a few days after becoming the Russian champion with the Novosibirsk side.

“Talks have been going on for some time. We had plans A and B, but the final conversation with the club was literally the day before we learned that the Superliga is ending and Lokomotiv Novosibirsk became Russian champions. The bosses of the club didn’t hide anything from me, they honestly presented me with the team’s plan for the next season and admitted that they didn’t see me in it. I respect them for having the courage to talk to me normally and not deceive me or later do it by the phone. We parted in mutual respect and normal relationship,” a two-time world champion with Poland National Team said.

The setter added that there are good chances he will stay in Russia for the next season but stressed Italy is also a serious option.

I think this was the best decision for the club. With only having 2 foreigner spots, the setter position was the easier position to let go. I think Lokomotiv will transfer a foreign OPP in place.
