A 38-year-old libero Artem Ermakov retired after winning the Russian Championship with Lokomotiv last season. He was introduced to the players of Fakel, for which he competed in 2005/06, as a new team manager.

During his club career, Ermakov became the champion of Russia with three different clubs (in 2009 with Zenit-Kazan, in 2013 with Belogorie, and in 2020 with Lokomotiv). With Zenit, he also won the 2008 CEV Champions League.

As a member of the Russia National Team, Ermakov played 51 matches, including those at the 2016 Rio Olympics. He helped “Zbornaya“ claim the 2013 CEV EuroVolley and the 2013 FIVB World League gold medals.
