A 23-year-old Russia National Team member Semyshev terminated the contract with Belogorie by mutual consent – which is the second time in two years that he separates with his employer in the same way – and moved to Dinamo Moscow.
Allegedly, Belogorie were unhappy with the fact that the outside hitter, who won the 2019 FIVB Nations League with “Zbornaya“, is prone to injuries. Last season, Semyshev missed more than a month due to a shoulder injury, and now he’s back in the infirmary. There was also a conflict between the player and the Belgorod-based club this summer. Belogorie announced the gathering earlier than planned which caught Semyshev on vacation. As a result, the player came to the training camp but with a delay for which the club didn’t have an understanding.
Note that Semyshev unilaterally terminated the deal with Gazprom-Yugra in December 2019. The reason for Semyshev’s departure from the Surgut team were the insults he reported receiving from the head coach Rafael Khabibullin. Then, Gazprom-Yugra and Belogorie (who wanted him in their ranks), didn’t agree on the amount of compensation and the player missed half of the 2017/18 season.
In November 2018, the All-Russian Volleyball Federation (VFV) allowed the outside hitter to move from Gazprom-Yugra to Belogorie. The Surgut club appealed in front of the arbitration court for the compensation amount but didn’t achieve a change in the decision.
