The reigning champions Dinamo-Ak Bars ended the surprising unbeaten run of Proton in the 2020/21 Superliga Parimatch regular season for women that lasted four games.

In Round 5, the Kazan team prevailed in the tie-break on the road, partially 25-20, 23-25, 21-25, 25-22, and 15-12. Dinamo were pushed to the win by Mexican Samantha Bricio, who scored 26 points, and Irina Koroleva, who made 8 blocks. Anastasiya Bavykina top-scored Proton with 27 points, while Elena Savkina set up 7 blocks.

Apart from Proton’s, there are two more surprising unbeaten streaks this season. After sweeping Lipetsk, Leningradka (Viktoriya Chaplina 18 points) extended their run to four games and settled just behind the leaders Dinamo Krasnodar – who unexpectedly have a 5-0 record – in the charts.
