RUS M: Kuzbass Kemerovo and Alan Souza part ways

As the Russian powerhouse Kuzbass Kemerovo announced on official website and social networks, the contract with Alan Souza was terminated by mutual agreement.

Alan Souza and Kuzbass Kemerovo parted ways by mutual agreement due to player injury. The Brazilian national team player came to Kuzbass this season, and made his debut for the team in the second game in the preliminary round of the Russian Cup in Novosibirsk. He played four games there and was the top scorer of his team. He played three games in the Russian Superliga Parimatch, scoring 61 points (54% attack, 4 blocks, 2 aces).

“The contract with Alan Souza was terminated by mutual agreement due to injury. On my own behalf, on behalf of the players, staff and fans of the Kuzbass Kemerovo volleyball club, I want to thank Alan for being a part of our club. We wish him a speedy recovery from injury and a successful continuation of his professional career. I am sure we will see his great performance at the upcoming 2022 World Championship in Russia as part of the Brazilian national team,” said Sergei Lomako, CEO of Kuzbass Kemerovo.  

Before arriving in Kuzbass, the 27-year-old opposite hitter, has defended the colors of only clubs in his home country, concluded with Sada Cruzeiro in 2020/21 season. Alan is a 2-time winner of the Brazilian Championship and Brazilian Cup each, and a 3-time winner of the Brazilian Super Cup. He also won the FIVB Club World Championship once.

In 2021, with the Brazilian national team, he won the VNL and the South American Championship while finishing in 4th place at the Olympics. He participated in winning 3 more gold medals of the Brazilian national team – in the Pan American Cup, one more in South American Championship and 2019 World Cup.
