Following Ural Ufa’s straight sets win against Nova Novokuybyshevsk yesterday, Round 26 of the Russian Superliga continued today with five more games.
The day started with Lokomotiv Novosibirsk securing a home victory in a tie break against Fakel Novy Urengoy (21-25, 25-20, 25-21, 23-25, 15-13). Meanwhile, Dynamo-LO defeated Kuzbass Kemerovo in three sets (25-22, 25-23, 25-13), Dynamo Moscow downed Gazprom-Yugra Surgut without any problem in three sets (25-21, 25-21, 25-18), and Zenit Saint Petersburg won against Yugra-Samotlor Nizhnevartovsk in straight sets (25-14, 25-19, 28-26), despite the rivals’ attempt to re-open the game after a hard-fought third set.
Additionally, Dynamo Moscow now shares the same number of points as leaders Zenit Kazan in the current standings and, at least until Monday (when the giant from the Tatarstan region will face ASK Nizhny Novgorod at home), they are now at the top. Finally, Belogorie Belgorod secured another straight sets win against Stroitel Minsk making it their second win in two days, and they did it more easily today with a score of 19-25, 14-25, 20-25.
