On the last day of tournament Volero Zurich defeated the youngsters from Turkey 3:0 (25:23, 25:18, 25:19).
Captain Nataliya Mammadova received the trophy from Nania Yeltsina, the wife of the first President of Russian Federation, Boris Yeltsin.
For coach Zoran Terzić and his team Yeltsin Cup was an important first test on the way to the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship, which will take place in Manila from 18 to 23 of October.
“It is a great pleasure that we could win this traditional tournament! Our team is on the right track and I am satisfied with players condition. We will continue with good work and some friendly matches to prepare for the first highlight of the season in Manila.”
Russia earned 3:0 win over Dinamo Krasnodar (25:18, 25:23, 27:25) in the last day of the Boris Yeltsin Cup 2016 and finished the tournament on second place.
