In this occasion Jelena Trnic – middle blocker of NIS Spartak SUBOTICA – and Drazen Luburic – opposite player representing the likes of Vojvodina NS Seme NOVI SAD – were named the best young players of this year’s national league and received a check of 1,000 € each provided by title sponsor Wiener Städtische.
Filip Stoilovic – who plays at outside hitter for Serbia’s national champions Crvena Zvezda BEOGRAD – was announced as “Player of the month of April” at the end of a voting process that involved high-ranking authorities of the Association of First Division Volleyball Clubs, plus representatives of the Wiener Städtische Insurance Company and writers of the daily sports newspaper “Sportski žurnal”. After receiving a check of 500 € by Zoran Blagojevic, member of the Executive Board in Wiener Städtische, and a special trophy from the hands of Slobodan Milosevic, Secretary General of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, Stoilovic presented the official playing uniform of his club, Crvena Zvezda, to another representative of that insurance company, Mrs. Svetlana Smiljanic.
Mrs. Smiljanic was then joined by the President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia and CEV Senior Vice President, Mr. Aleksandar Boricic, to award the team captains of the clubs – namely Vizura Wall Art and AS, both from Beograd – that claimed this year’s Serbian league in the girls’ and boys’ pre-youth division respectively. Ana Martinovic and Aleksa Nestorovic – these are the young players that captained their sides all the way to the first place in the final standing – were literally electrified for they had the opportunity to visit the headquarters of the Wiener Städtische Insurance Company, the general sponsor of Serbia’s Superleague.
In the end all guests, including many representatives of the media, were invited for a cocktail party where they were addressed by Mrs. Smiljanic as well as by Mr. Goran Cato, the Chair of the Association of First Division Volleyball Clubs.
