On Tuesday night they will play their first match in Europe’s finest league taking on Poland’s vice champions Lotos Trefl GDANSK at Ergo Arena.
The coach of Vojvodina NS Seme NOVI SAD, Strahinja Kozić, said that the match with GDANSK will be a good experience for his team.
“It is an honour for us to perform in the CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League. As for Lotos Trefl GDANSK, they are an experienced team placed under the guidance of a great coach, Andrea Anastasi,” he said.
The most experienced player on the roster, Aleksandar Minić, has already played at this level and so his role will be particularly important for the team.
“I have played in the Champions League for two seasons and every time we got to a play against a Polish team. I can say that this is definitely a real Volleyball country. Their halls are always full, so we can expect a great atmosphere. Lotos Trefl GDANSK are the favourites of this match but I believe that we also stand a chance. We are very motivated and we will be playing without any pressure,” he said.
