SRB M: Vojvodina strike back vs. Crvena zvezda, need one more win to advance to finals

The top-seed Vojvodina NS Seme Novi Sad took a 2-1 lead in the Serbian men’s volleyball championship Superliga 2017/2018 playoff semifinals versus No.4 Crvena zvezda Belgrade.

The defending champions Vojvodina defeated No.4 Crvena zvezda in Game 3 on the road by a 3-1 (25-21, 27-25, 19-25, 25-20) to strike back for losing the previous encounter at home and got themselves a 2-1 lead in the series. Thus, Vojvodina came to one win from qualifying for the finals.

David Mehić topped the winning side with 22 points, while Radiša Stevanović added 4 kill blocks. In Crvena zvezda, Aleksandar Gmitrović scored 26 points. Nemanja Mašulović contributed with 6 kill blocks.

In the other semifinal, No.2 Novi Pazar won Game 2 against third-seed Spartak Subotica by a 3-0 (25-22, 25-13, 25-20) and also came to one win from advancing to the gold medal series as they gained a 2-0 lead.
